ABOUT THE AUTHOR

As with many during the Pandemic, I spent time soul searching for "what I wanted to do when I grow up." After months of reading and reflection, I was drawn to my childhood love of drawing. This passion launched into becoming, not only an illustrator, but a self-published children's book author as well.

One year later, my first book launched! In addition to the story and illustrations, setting up an LLC, working with an attorney on copyrights, procuring ISBNs, and hiring an editor were just a few of the milestones. There were an overwhelming number of additional steps and barriers. Being a self-published children's book author and illustrator is equally challenging and rewarding.

When not working on my next manuscript, I enjoy spending time with my family in Ohio. I am also a full-time healthcare professional of nearly twenty years where I enjoy leading teams.

THE BEGINNINGS

After sharing I wanted to publish a book, my young son stated "Mom, write a story about a raptor driving a tractor."

The entire family was then engaged and contributed to writing and illustrating the first book. My stepson drew the initial sketch of the raptor, my daughter drew some of the animal sketches, and my sisters and mom provided continuous feedback and edits.

Never ever, though, would I imagine two years later, I would have a book series and additional book ideas in process.

MY PASSION

Some may never find a passion. If you are in that position and motivated to change, please reflect, and find what is burning inside you. You will achieve your wildest dreams.

To find your passion, notate when you lose time. I could spend every day, all day, pouring love and creativity into writing and illustrating children's books. However, as a healthcare professional and mom to three, just a few minutes or hours each week are dedicated to this passion.

My books' quote page state, "May every person live a purposeful life." Overwhelming joy and excitement exude from me when talking about my books. Purposeful time is sacred. It is a true blessing that I get to now share these stories and illustrations for the whole world to enjoy!
